Owch, I stepped on a thought mine…

I was walking through Winterly today, and was struck by how words are a restriction to the human thought process. What is the word for autumn, that encapsulates the little “aah” feeling that you get from seeing the first leaves on a tree die, and as they decompose, become a little slice of fire frozen in tme and space, before it glides to the floor to become another inconvenience to scrape off ones shoe? Made me think about how people are only interesting for so long, before the attractive “autumness” rots away, to feed beetles, worms, and, in the case of humans, newspapers. No? thats because there isn’t one, so we have to express our elongated thought process in a way that doesn’t make sense, because there is no word for it; like orwellian Newspeak, but less sinister. That just struck me as annoying… we need more words, or a new way of communication that’s more human. And don’t start going on about modern art, because that is genuinely rubbish.

Hello Blog…

Ooh look, another bandwagon to jump on…

Erm hey, well here’s my blog, so I just go ahead and tell y’all anything and everything that happens in my life? Sweet. Well this weekend was fun, babysat for in derby all day Satdee, and Sunday went to church and ate roast beef. Golly gee, how English I am.

Don’t worry, more interesting stuff will crop up that avoids the social weedkiller that pervades this middle-england social vacuum between youth and adulthood. “Emerging Adults” is the new label I think, makes us sound like a beautiful butterfly erupting from a chrysalis of aimless frivolioty, rather than a run of the mill teenager waiting for Uni with a mixture of excitement and abject terror.

Woah, did I just rant? Oh blog, you and me should elope.

*Song of the Day*

Blue Lips by Regina Spektor – more mellow than my usual listening habits, but its beautiful. Absolutely flipping stunning. Enjoy.
